Imagine having a medical condition that is hidden in plain sight. One where there is no crutch, cane or caste, so people are less apt to cut you some slack. Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs)can cause anything from headaches, compromised cognitive abilities and sensory sensitivities to rare occurrences of people sounding like they’re now speaking with a foreign accent (Foreign Accent Syndrome) or their brain now has the inability to comprehend music (Acquired Amusia). Shelley Klevos’ personal TBI story started with a horrific accident, but has since given her a renewed lease on life and an ability to help others… Even in ways that are hidden...in plain sight.
